This is the unlikely story of how UpdatesCentral went from "cool idea" to a company serving more than 500 local businesses and dozens of franchises.
UpdatesCentral was conceived in the summer of 2009, when Patrick Baynes (Founder & CEO) worked part-time at Scruffy Murphy’s Irish Pub & Eatery in Columbus, Georgia. A recent alumni of LinkedIn and budding technology entrepreneur, Patrick observed the massive opportunity Facebook was giving Scruffy’s to engage their best customers, yet their social accounts were rarely updated.
The business owner was left to manage social marketing either by herself or spend hundreds each month hiring someone she could trust. Patrick knew there must be a better solution, and that local businesses should be able to engage their customers on Facebook each day without needing costly help.
The concept was incubated until 2014, when Patrick Baynes and co-founder Michael Coupe teamed up to launch UpdatesCentral across the restaurant, fitness, and medical industries. In short time, the company was serving up low cost, high performance content and on-demand pro services to brands and businesses worldwide.
As of 2019, UpdatesCentral has grown to serve more than 500 marketers and business owners, with operations in Philadelphia, New York, and Puerto Rico.

Will Dyson is a senior developer and product manager with over a decade's worth of experience building custom applications and technical IT support systems across multiple platforms. Will is the original architect of the UpdatesCentral platform and continues to lead product development.
